One of the things that always bothered me when considering the thought of eternal life on Earth was the fact that the Sun has a finite amount of hydrogen and helium to maintain it thermonuclear fusion. What will God do when our Sun begins to use up it's fuel? How will he prevent our star from engulfing the Earth when it swells becoming a red giant?

You cannot live forever in paradise on earth
by Gopher inthe watchtower society has, for about seven decades, been attracting new volunteer workers for its field ministry with the promise of life forever on a paradise earth.
even the titles of its main study books since 1968 bear the promise: the truth that leads to eternal life, you can live forever in paradise on earth, and knowledge that leads to everlasting life.
how logical is this hope that leads people to entrust the watchtower with their time, energy and worldly possessions?

More Watchtower Double Speak!
by gumby inavove is a 1999 km quote pages 3-6 on the dangers of the internet.. .
you don't need to read all this.
just read the opening line and paragraph 19.....then read paragraph 22. in summary, the opening line below says... the watchtower does all our research for us and we need not look elsewhere.

Thanks for the scan gumby. Very interesting indeed. I just shared some of those points to my wife for her entertainment. Basically what their saying is "dont think for your self, stay away from the internet and rely on Jehovah because, after all, he knows best".

Here's a question.....
by Low-Key Lysmith in......for those of you who have family that still speaks to you on occasion, does it seem that they are always trying to update you on goings-on in the congregation?
my grandma, every time she calls (which isn't often), likes to say "brother or sister so-and-so were asking about you the other day".
or "brother so-and-so got disfellowshipped".

Breck, I certainly don't feel that your being to suspicious. My mother used to do the same thing untill recently. I think she finally has come to terms with the fact that I am no longer or never will be returning to her cult.

I was a late driver. Didn't get my license untill I was 17. I didn't learn to ride a motorcycle untill this summer (31 yrs old). Here's a photo of my first vehicle. Its a 1984 Ford Exp. It's a four cylinder that only seats two. I'll tell you what though...the hatchback design of this thing allowed me to haul items that my friends could only dream about. This photo is off a google search. Mine was the same brick read color but without the black trim on the bottom. Mine also had different wheels. It looks pretty pittifull to me now.

My heart always questioned. My father, being a computer advocate, has always had the internet since its inception. I can remember him using bulliten boards back in the 80's on his old TRS80 radio shack computer. I can remember, years ago, first searching on line regarding JW's and the WBTS and not getting too many results.
So the answer to that question for me is no. I got out as soon as I could. Legally becoming an adult had quite a bit to do with that.

For me the highlight of 2005 was learning to ride a motorcycle with my old man and spending weekends galivanting around the countryside with him. He also gave me his old motorcycle so I didn't have to go out and buy one. Sssweeeeeet!
